Kenya's internet traffic rises exponentially.
According to the global report of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), released this week and announced in Kenya by Kenya Network Information Center (KENIC) Director, Sammy Buruchara, Kenya leads the Black continent's ranking in network utilization , While it is reaching South Africa, leader in creating domains and most IP address users.
The ".ke" domain is therefore the second largest in Africa, having surpassed the countries that had developed in the telematic domain, such as Nigeria and Ghana.
"Domain names are recorded by African entities mainly in countries where the local hosting and web development industry has sufficiently advanced to create the demand for local domains," explains ICANN in its report that for First time it includes a thorough analysis of the African market, considered the most potentially growing world in the world.
ICANN estimates that the African DNA market is worth about 5.4 billion Kenyan shillings (about $ 52 million) and will grow about 33 percent each year. However, Africa still has a long way to go before it can compete with the Western world.
