A week to celebrate gastronomy and Italian culture in Nairobi, with music, exhibitions, dance, theater and other events. The event was organized by the Sarova Stanley Hotel in Nairobi in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute in Nairobi and the patronage of the Italian Embassy in Kenya.
The week will open this Saturday, November 12th, at Café Thorn Three of the prestigious hotels of the capital, with the spectacle of Freddie Curatolo and Marco "Sbringo" Bigi, "Two Italian in Kenya". A path between songs, recitatives and stories that trace the arrival and adventures of our countrymen in the African country. Among historical courses and resorts, anecdotes and memories, unlikely Swahili versions of popular Italian songs and other poetic moments, surreal or music, Freddie evoke the epic story of the Italians in Kenya and all the glorious situations and grotesque connected. Without forgetting the great contribution of the "mal d'Afrique" to continuously falling in love for those arriving from the beautiful country and settled equator.
During the week will also feature an exhibition of works of art by Gian Paolo Tomasi, a genius of photo editing and author of the paintings become true own icons of Italian art in Kenya. The week also includes dinners and tastings and above all, under the aegis of Slow Food in Kenya has created several safeguards to protect certain products of the earth, like the nettles of the Mau Forest, the Lare pumpkin and yogurt fermented in ash Samburu.
The evening of Saturday, November 12 is by invitation (for details, please contact the Italian Institute of Culture in Nairobi www.iicnairobi.com) for other information to the Sarova Stanley Hotel www.sarovahotels.com).
