Those who believe that Santa Claus does not like to come to Africa, perhaps because of the heat or fear that reindeers may fall into the clutches of the savannah cats, should know that Father Christmas could never do such a big wrong to the millions of African and European children living in Kenya, let alone to the many small tourists who spend their December holidays in Malindi.
So, as tradition, it arrives a little before Christmas and for some years now has chosen the Sandies Tropical Village to receive the letters with the "wishes" of the children, in the beautiful setting of the beach of Silversand, where for the occasion will light the lights of the highest Christmas tree in the town. 
Saturday, December 7, from 19, everyone is invited to the traditional lighting of the Christmas tree, with a party that will first involve families and children with the arrival of Santa Claus from the beach, to receive letters from children and be photographed with them, while adults can enjoy a welcome cocktail under the palm trees.
Followed by the gala dinner, enriched by the traditional mulled wine, with eggnog, cakes and the classic pudding of the festivities, during which with the background of the notes of the Solitaire Band of Mombasa, around 20 will be turned on the lights of the big Christmas tree.
After dinner, the lights will also light up on the Beach Party with the musical selections of an exceptional deejay, to dance together in the first big pre-Christmas party in Malindi.
