Malindi is dead: the last show of Freddie and Sbringo

Tonight at Baby Marrow all songs about italians in Kenya

22-01-2020 by redazione

The grand finale of Freddie and Defrost's music cabaret tonight at Baby Marrow is a parade with the best of the 2019-2020 "production".
In Malindi's Art & Food Restaurant an evening with all the parodies of famous songs about Malindi and the Italians in Kenya goes on stage.
The title is all a program: "Malindi is dead", which makes the verse obviously to the historical "God is dead" by Guccini and the Nomads. A parade of clichés of those who see Malindi now at the last resort.
"Actually, we are the common mortals - explains Freddie who had fun changing the lyrics to songs by celebrated songwriters - Malindi is eternal and its history proves it. If she falls, she's always ready to rise again".
The Nomads are also recalled in "Io moribondo", while De André's Il Pescatore arrives in Silversand and tries to sell the fish to the tourists chased by the beach boys and Bennato urges to find in Malindi "The residence that isn't there".
As always, there will be the catchphrase of the season, the song dedicated to the national beer: "Tusker Baridi Sana".
To book for the last occasion of the year, dinner from 19.30 and show from 21, Tel. 0700766704
