On the occasion of the World Week of Italian Cuisine that this year the Italian Embassy in Kenya wanted to take place in Malindi, Osteria Beach has expanded and further "Italianized" its historic Sunday Grand Buffet, dedicating it to Pellegrino Artusi's recipes, especially those that have been translated into Kiswahili by the Italian Institute of Culture in Nairobi.
With a really bargain price on Sunday, December 1st for lunch, enjoying the beach of Silversand and the sunbeds by the Indian Ocean, the Artusi Buffet will be on stage with a roundup of delicacies from our country: pizzas, focaccia, panzerotti, omelettes, Tuscan crostini, potato croquettes and rice fritters and other appetizers, there will be the opportunity to taste cold dishes such as octopus carpaccio, salads, and many types of sautéed vegetables. And then there is plenty of space for first courses to celebrate the recipe book of the historic Italian chef: lasagne with meat sauce, Milanese risotto, potato dumplings with pesto, ravioli with tomato sauce, fricassee, golden chicken, spicy squid and stew, fish from Livorno, roast suckling pig and baked fish from the island, as well as Piedmontese ratatuja, ending with a traditional banana ice cream.
