New italian travel order: ban lifted only for Ruanda

Last updates: no tourism in Kenya even for Christmas?

As had already been widely guessed, no last-minute changes with regard to travel to East Africa, with the exception of Rwanda, which since the beginning of the pandemic seems to be the only nation that our government trusts, in terms of data transmitted and progress in the vaccination campaign.
Kenya and Tanzania, in a nutshell, have not been moved from the countries of band "E" in which travel for tourism is prohibited and the return there is in any case for all (residents, citizens, holders of exceptions and those who do not care about the bans) to comply with the quarantine of ten days.
The second ordinance signed yesterday, Monday, October 25, introduces some news that do not change anything for those who have in mind the vacation at the equator, at least until next December 15.
In confirming the division of non-Schengen countries into lists according to the restrictions implemented against them, there have been some "promotions" and "demotions" due to the evolution of the situation of the pandemic, vaccinations and health security.
Among the countries that have been moved back one "band", from C to D, are Israel and Bahrain, while Chile, Kuwait, Uruguay and Rwanda have been promoted from band E, and are once again, as they were a few months ago, the only nation in all of Africa that can be visited for tourism.
In the countries in band D, which was also coveted by Kenya (and it is useful to know this for the future), tourism is possible for those who present the Green Pass at departure, along with a negative tampon and Passenger Locator Form.
But there are also several countries downgraded from the D list, which come to join Kenya in the last "round" of the damned: Albania, Armenia,
Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brunei, Lebanon, Moldova, Montenegro, Republic of North Macedonia and Serbia. Also present in this category are India, Brazil, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, which were previously subject to entirely different rules, given the emergency situation and their own closure to the outside world.
Finally, according to travel agency reference sites, countries that could soon benefit from tourism corridors would be Thailand, Cape Verde and Oman. So, according to the experts, no Kenya and Zanzibar even for Christmas.
Recall then that until December 15 next from Italy to Kenya are prohibited travel for tourism purposes to and from these countries: it is allowed the possibility to travel only for work, health, study or absolute urgency. In case of return to Italy from one of these countries will be necessary to undergo, in addition to the swab, a quarantine of 10 days, followed by a further test.
