Malindi's added value is not only its tourist attractiveness, but also the growth of residents and the attendance of business travelers and vacationers who spend long periods or even just weekends there arriving from Nairobi or other African cities and after a period of acclimatization perhaps purchase property. Residential tourism that complements holiday tourism.
With this in mind, taking over a restaurant business and running it could prove to be a tasty income potential.
One of the most interesting proposals, from this point of view, is the sale of the business of a well-known restaurant in the beating heart of the town, along the main commercial artery, Lamu Road, where banks, stores, bars, supermarkets and other businesses follow one another.
The restaurant, which closed its doors last year but is still intact and ready to reopen, is located within a large garden with ample private parking area, a rare feature to be in downtown Malindi.
The structure is in excellent condition, with no need for major renovations but only routine maintenance and any improvements dictated by one's personal taste.
The two interior rooms and the bar area are accessed through the well-kept and lush garden in which a pergola has been created to accommodate up to about 80 seats.
The interior is very bright and divided into three rooms, in which about fifty people can eat plus a part dedicated to the bar area with a counter.
There is the possibility of also being able to increase the number of seats in the small garden at the back in an even more cozy and intimate atmosphere.
The restaurant, a well-established business since 2010, has a working pizza oven, grill and a well-equipped kitchen, as well as other spaces that can be used as storage and staff house.
In the outdoor area, somewhat hidden from the main area, there is a small Lounge Bar in need of renovation that could offer the possibility of organizing aperitifs and special evenings. The monthly rent is attractive and the transfer price of the business including equipment is negotiable. Subletting can also be considered, subject to certain conditions.
