Italian show cooking conquers Nairobi

Italian Food Week events kick off in Kenya

With an evening of haute cuisine by Michelin-starred chef and taste ambassador Luca Mastromattei, dedicated to local chefs, influencers, and cooking enthusiasts of various nationalities, the Italian Embassy in Kenya kicked off the Italian Cuisine Week programme of events.

In the presence of the ambassador, Roberto Natali, Mastromattei set up a 'master class' in one of the Kenyan capital's renowned venues, the Vanguard Lounge, with a show cooking session dedicated in particular to promoting traditional preparations and the correct use of ingredients in the recipes of some of the best-known Italian dishes, from focaccia to risotto, from tortelli to the real 'three tomato' sauce.

Tastings of the dishes were accompanied by oil and wine tastings.
"In celebrating our food and wine culture and tradition during this week," said Natali, "we wanted to create a series of meetings and events covering the many aspects of what revolves around eating and drinking well in Italy and the promotion of our territory and its excellent and highly appreciated products.
