Like every first weekend of the month, the appointment at Driftwood in Malindi, the historic and fascinating club founded by the British but now a meeting place for many "Malindians" including Italians, is double. On Friday evening, the now traditional BBQ night by the pool, BBQ Night, with a deejay set to soft music from the 1970s and 1980s and evergreen music. Grilled meat or fish, salad and vegetable buffets and dessert trolley at very attractive prices in a unique location by the Indian Ocean at Silversands.
A classic appointment also on Sunday morning, like every first weekend of the month, the Farmer's Market returns, the market set up in the garden of the Malindi club with many exhibitors bringing their creations, rather than second-hand or organic farming items. A way to meet up a few steps away from the beach and at the same time do some shopping while having an aperitif or the second coffee of the day.
