Kenyan actor Hassani Shapi, a well-known face internationally and in recent years on the small and big screen in Italy, made his debut last Monday on Rai Uno, in the new Rai Fiction series 'Il clandestino', starring Edoardo Leo.
Shapi, originally from Mombasa, talked about his role in the series to Italian blogger Andrea Della Rocca on Tv Circle. (Below is the youtube link, in italian language).
Having graced the screens of the United States, the United Kingdom and Italy, Hassani's versatility shines through in his ease in switching between film, theatre and television.
Known for his roles in iconic productions such as Star Wars (1999) as Eeth Koth, 007 - The World Is Not Enough (1999) and Law & Order (2010), Shapi has also won accolades for his outstanding performances.
In Italy, he achieved notoriety with roles in "Lezioni Di Cioccolato", "L'Isola Di Pietro", "Sharm & Sheik", "Il Maresciallo Rocca" and a number of other acclaimed productions.
In "Il Clandestino", Hassani Shapi plays Palitha, a Sri Lankan who urges the protagonist Edoardo Leo, a former chief inspector of anti-terrorism who retired from the police force after a tragic attack in which his wife lost her life, to set up an unlikely detective agency.
