From an initiative of the expert Sergio Peroni, a frequent visitor to Malindi and especially for 40 years in the world of motors with the organization of international races, motor shows and driving courses and two passionate friends and compatriots living in Malindi, Daniele Terzi (driver with experience in the Camel Trophy, the highest expression of off-road) and Antonello Di Mauro, was born in Malindi Motor Club Malindi, the first motoring association of the Kenyan north coast. There is only one in Mombasa (Mombasa Motor Club) since 60 years.
Thanks to the commitment of the three Italian entrepreneurs, the Malindi Motor Club has set itself very ambitious objectives: first of all, to be able to bring together under its own initiative all fans of the world of engines and four and two wheels and consequently to organize traveling events along the routes of Kenya, static exhibitions of modern and historic vehicles, tests of ability in O-Road, and last but not least, the launch of a School of driving off-road is a School of safe driving for young new drivers who, after obtaining a regular license want to refine the driving techniques safely facing sudden or extreme situations.
"The Malindi Motor Club - explains President Sergio Peroni - is a sports association open to all those who want to participate in the initiatives described above and that can contribute to a proper knowledge of the world of engines in a country in strong economic growth as Kenya where the continuous opening of new road links will greatly contribute to increasing the market for motor vehicles.
The organizational debut of the Malindi Motor Club will take place on 4/5 January 2020 with the launch of the second edition of the Malindi Raid 4x4 that will take members on board their off-road vehicles, quads and enduro bikes along 200km of dirt roads inside and on the coast of the town at the best time of tourist influx. It is undoubtedly another "vehicle" (in the true sense of the word!) for the promotion of the territory and the many landscape and sporting possibilities that have Malindi and its surroundings.
