Even Watamu goes down in the streets to defend its beauty and public health, before the big appointment on Saturday morning in Malindi.
On Friday, August 9th, in fact, in Watamu, citizens are on the street to defend the town from noise pollution and to raise awareness about the collection and disposal of waste.
The joint initiative of the Kilifi County Ministry of the Environment and the Watamu Against Crime Residents' Association, which deals with safety but also with issues that safeguard the resort and its inhabitants, will develop from the WAC office along the main road to Turtle Bay.
The aim of the event, Environment Minister Mariam Jeneby explains in a statement - is to raise awareness among the community and entertainment facilities about the need to stop noise pollution in Watamu. In addition, the awareness also aims to provide a clean and healthy environment for citizens in line with Article 42 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
For this reason the theme of the event is: "Stop noise pollution for a healthier environment".
The day's activities will include an awareness walk from the office and a cleaning exercise in the city of Watamu from 8.30 am.
