Angella doesn't stop. The young tennis player who has already set a record, being the first Kenyan woman to win a match in an international Grand Slam tournament, even if it is a junior one, has also passed the sixteenth final, beating the favorite home player Zara Larke in 3 sets at the Australian Open.
Angella Okutoyi had already surprised her compatriots and the specialized press all over the world by winning the first round against the Italian Federica Urgesi.
Fearlessly, the girl who grew up on the clay courts of Nairobi and established herself at continental level by winning youth tournaments in Burundi, Rwanda and Algeria, had announced that her goal is to reach the quarter-finals.
After the victory against Larke, with the score of 7-6, 5-7, 6-1, losing only three serves but fixing them with as many breaks before reaching the third set and eating the exhausted Australian, ending the match in her favor in 2 hours and 18 minutes, the only obstacle to her dream is represented by the highly rated Serbian tennis player Lola Radivojevic.
Now not only Kenyans are cheering for the under 18 Kenyan, but also many Italians, especially here in Kenya.
Come on Angella!
