The beneficial virus of culture and art is increasingly present in Malindi and strengthens the soul and spirit. These days it is no small thing, in Africa which looks to the West and the East sick in every sense.

To celebrate Federico Fellini on the centenary of his birth, thanks to the initiative wanted by the Italian Embassy in Kenya and the Italian Cultural Institute in Nairobi, the inauguration of the exhibition that will remain on view until the end of the month in the space of the Art Sea Lodge of Armando Tanzini, was honored by over a hundred people, who followed with real interest the musical performance of the multi-instrumentalist Marco Bigi. The pianist, flutist and arranger, former Rai orchestra, performed pieces from Fellini's soundtracks, written by Nino Rota (Amarcord, 8 and 1/2 , La Dolce Vita, La città delle donne) and Nicola Piovani ("La voce della luna") interspersed with readings from interviews or short writings by the Maestro of Italian cinema, interpreted by Freddie del Curatolo and Doris Kamuye. On a video, images of the Oscar-winning masterpiece "La dolce Vita" and on stage together with the protagonists of the evening, an empty director's chair with a red scarf and the writing "Fellini" on the backrest.
Around, in addition to the hundred chairs and other people standing to follow the event, the original drawing boards of the Rimini genius, among horses, elephants and Tanzini's venus, in a surreal, dreamy and circus atmosphere. Enthusiastic audience and applause on open stage, for a completely successful event that brought together more or less all the nationalities present in Malindi with a single purpose: to participate, share and drive away any negative premonition.
