A “more unique than rare” day in Malindi for lovers of sushi-sashimi and to taste the historical fish setting of the Kenyan coast .
Yeah, because just for one day, Wednesday, August 12th, the famous Tamarind Restaurant of Mombasa, Mecca of good food in Kenya and unique location on the creek overlooking the island city, moves to the Driftwood Club in Malindi to set up its ideal lunch.
"Feast of the culinary senses", the more than promising title of the event.
If sushi and sashimi will take the lion's share, with chefs who for years and among the first in Kenya have proposed the preparation of raw Japanese fish, in the pleasant and "social distance" atmosphere of Driftwood, on the seafront of Silversand Beach, there will also be room for oysters and the inevitable barbecue that has made the Tamarind one of the exclusive stops for those staying on the Kenyan coast.
For those who are in Malindi, Watamu and Mambrui these days and love sushi and all the variations on the theme of fresh fish, it is really an opportunity not to be missed.
The event of course is at lunch time, starting at 12 and closing at 4pm.
Before lunch there will be special non-alcoholic cocktails and healthy and captivating drinks, to make you forget, without crying too much, the temporary lack of alcohol in the restaurants.
Reservations are required by calling Tel. 0721385435.
