Italian glamour and jewelry design are the themes of the new event organized by the Italian Cultural Institute in Nairobi, the cultural office of the Italian Embassy, which will be inaugurated this Friday, May 16, at the Village Market in Nairobi, during an evening event that can be attended by sending an email to iicnairobi@esteri. it. The exhibition will also be open to the public free of charge on Saturday 17, Sunday 18, and Monday 19 May. Registration to attend the opening event is mandatory and must be received by Thursday 15 May at 12 noon.

Entitled 'DIVA! Italian glamour in fashion jewelry', the exhibition is promoted by MAECI and curated by Alba Cappellieri, professor of Jewelry Design at the Politecnico di Milano.

The exhibition features over two hundred precious design objects that tell the story of Italy's unique artistic vision, from the Dolce Vita to the digital age.

Among the designers and fashion houses on display are Angela Caputi, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Elio Fiorucci, Missoni, Ornella Bijoux, Iosselliani, Sharra Pagano, and many other prominent figures from the Italian creative scene. During the opening event, Beatrice Rossato and Susanna Testa, who collaborated on the curation, will guide visitors through the themes and creative vision of this extraordinary collection. The vernissage will be enlivened by live music from Kenyan instrumentalist Scott the Violinist. A simple reception will follow.

The exhibition, held at the Village Market shopping center in Gigiri, Nairobi, will be open to the public from May 17 to 19, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
