Lots of people in Watamu for this holiday: young people, tourists of all nationalities, full hotels and overflowing private houses, bed&breakfast without a free room for weeks. Lots of restaurants and clubs where you can have lunch and dinner and beaches where you can relax, sunbathe and enjoy the Indian Ocean. But only one big beach party in the "pearl of the Indian Ocean", the historic Papa Remo Beach. Which for the occasion doubles its appointments to be the landmark of the New Year's celebrations. So tonight special Beach Party in front of the Island of Love and Thursday night the first disco of the year barefoot on the sand. Papa Remo is increasingly synonymous with Watamu's "movida".
