The Ferragosto dinner, with a sumptuous set menu, is being offered tonight in Malindi by Olimpia Club. The renovated venue with new management on Silversand beach is abandoning its already very popular Friday evening Aperidinner for a week and, to coincide with August 15, is offering a truly special and comprehensive menu starting at 8 p.m., with lots of specialties and courses. The meal begins with a selection of mixed cheeses, followed by a trio of seafood appetizers (octopus and potatoes, tuna and avocado tartare, red snapper carpaccio).
This is followed by two first courses, spaghetti with prawns and a hint of the sea and Milanese risotto, two main courses, fish and meat (mixed grilled fish and shellfish or fillet with green pepper) with side dishes, mixed salad and roast potatoes, followed by specialities from pastry chef Enrico, one of the stars of the Olimpia, who offers his ‘profiterole and coccole’ (profiteroles and cuddles), as well as fruit salad.
The price for the evening, with reservations required, is KES 5000 and includes coffee and still or sparkling water.
The evergreen music of legendary DJ Dulla will enliven the dinner and after-dinner.
