No tourist season in Watamu is complete without Paparemo Beach; there’s no other landmark, no other place for socialising, fun, amenities and good food – with beach parties as the icing on the cake. When Paparemo reopens and the Seven Islands Beach comes back to life, the ‘Pearl of the Indian Ocean’ lights up with its iconic venue.
This year, the date is set for this Saturday, 11 July, when no fewer than three local DJs (Seme, Chipi and CNG) will take to the decks and kick off the season’s first beach party. (Doors open at 10 pm; men Kes 1,500, women Kes 700)
But many more events are set to follow, featuring other DJs and parties, with continuity guaranteed by the twenty years’ experience of one of the Kenyan coast’s most iconic venues and by the determination of the owner, Roberto Lenzi, and his family to continue to amaze and uphold the reputation of holidays in the resort that he has helped to grow into a world-class destination.
The restaurant and beach bar are also open every day from morning to evening, serving lunch, dinner and cocktails at the unmissable sunset hour, organised by Cristian and Enrico.
