From restaurant to meeting place, art and culture, entertainment and fashion, a modern "hub" in an African garden a stone's throw from where more than five hundred years ago Western culture arrived in Malindi and where today you can still enjoy the legacy left by this event.
The path of the Baby Marrow is more recent, but it started a few years ago and continued gradually and harmoniously thanks to the passion and verve of its owner Maurizio Mogavero, a volcanic compatriot to whom the simple label of "restaurateur" is very close. So he immediately furnished his restaurant, one of the culinary landmarks of the town, with works of art on the walls and has often hosted evenings of culture, music, local creativity and mixes of genres, activities and disciplines.
From this year on it has given space to fashion, hosting the boutique corner of Miradi Studio, with the original clothes by Simonetta Schiantarelli and is "redoing her makeup" with numerous tricks and embellishments to the structure.
A signposted totem with various arrows indicates that a few meters away you can get lost in a different corner as if it were a destination of pleasure and curiosity, so the Baby Marrow garden is becoming a small informal theater of surprises and now also inaugurates the permanent exhibition of African stone sculptures by Ndoro Sculpture Garden.
Another novelty is the "Pizza Corner" created in the "baby bar" at the entrance, with tables under the makuti and in the veranda on the street and with a dedicated pizza menu at special prices, Kes. 100 less pizza than the price list of the restaurant, where you can always taste the Neapolitan specialty cooked in a wood-burning oven, at the usual prices, but where with the reduction of the tables and the creation of a more intimate and comfortable environment, we always recommend booking.
We cannot therefore speak of "new Baby Marrow" but of a place in continuous evolution, where curiosity, the pleasure of discovery and sharing is at the centre of everything, so as not to have to simply say "tonight I'm going to the restaurant".
