A few hours after President Uhuru Kenyatta announced that he has reopened traffic to and from the capital Nairobi from the rest of Kenya, and the other four counties that were under lockdown, namely Kajado, Machakos, Kiambu and Nakuru, Kenya Airways, the national airline, and its subsidiary for local flights, Jambojet have announced that from today, Sunday 2 May, flights will resume from Jomo Kenyatta and Wilson airports in the capital to all the various domestic destinations from Mombasa to Lamu, Malindi, Ukunda, Kisumu and Eldoret.
So will Skywards from tomorrow.
Jambojet has also already announced the resumption of two daily flights to Malindi from Nairobi.
An important news that allows quick connection also for those arriving in Nairobi from abroad, reactivating many possibilities for businessmen and women, tourists and all foreign travelers (except currently those who would like to arrive from India and the British for whom Kenya is still taboo because of the decisions of London). As far as our country is concerned, for the moment the Italian government, aligned with the European Union in its strictest decisions, at least on paper, is banning tourism, but it could reopen in June. Good news for those who want to see Kenya, those who have been missing for too long and those who dream of witnessing the great migration to the Maasai Mara between the end of June and September.
25 weekly flights from next December 20th from Nairobi to Malindi and return coinciding with the Christmas holidays and year-end.
Program that will probably last for three weeks.
