Microsoft's global problems with the computer downtime that is causing ripple disruptions in Internet governed services, is also affecting Kenya, with several malfunctions and problems.
Among the companies and services affected is the national airline Kenya Airways, which in a statement admitted that it is experiencing a disruption in its flight booking service, which may create delays in all its operations, although it has not yet spoken of disruption or cancellation of flights.
Another service that is unusable for now concerns the transfer of money from the Paypal platform to the mobile phone service Mpesa. Safaricom announced this, pointing out that technicians are already at work to solve the problem. The first bank to warn its customers of the temporary interruption of some online services is Ncba, but it is feared that other banks may follow.
For now, the international airports of Nairobi and Mombasa are functioning properly, but it is feared that the blockade of other airports around the world could lead to delays and flight suspensions.
As always, we will keep you updated.
