IEBC says that Odinga did not withdraw

"He sent only an unofficial letter, did not fill the form"

12-10-2017 by redazione

The Electoral Commission of Kenya IEBC rejected the statement by the leader of the Opposition leader Raila Odinga announcing that he was renouncing to run for the Kenyan Presidency in the new elections, scheduled for 26 October next.
"The candidate Raila Odinga and her deputy Kalonzo Musyoka only sent a letter to the committee - announced IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati - but they did not send the official 24A form that must be filled in to make official the eventual renunciation".
Yesterday, the High Court of Nairobi, in readmitting to the elections the candidate of the "Third Alliance" Aukot, has in fact with his sentence reopened the doors to all the other candidates, as well as to new pretenders to the chair of leader of the Nation, indicating that those of 26 October were not ballot but actually new elections.
"The name of Odinga will be printed on the new ballot papers - reiterated Vice-President William Ruto - and we urge him to participate, being the only way to prove that, as he assures, he is the winner of the previous elections".
This is the political-judicial stage yesterday, but just as the street protests in Nairobi and Kisumu (where some injuries are reported) continue, everything can be changed today and in the next few days.
Only two weeks after the vote, or presumed to be so.
