The excellence of our young illustrators for children

24-10-2022 by redazione

Malindi is hosting from next Friday, for a fortnight at the National Museum (next to Uhuru Square) an exhibition that is part of the International Italian Language Week. 'Eccellenze italiane, la nuova generazione degli illustratori per ragazzi' (Italian excellence, the new generation of children's illustrators), this is the title of the exhibition, features twenty plates of original drawings by as many emerging illustrators and cartoonists on the national scene, whose talent and imagination have already inspired artists of the new generations all over the world. In fact, the group exhibition has already been represented in many international countries, from the East to South America to North Africa.
In this way, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wanted to award young illustrators aged 23 to 35 who have distinguished themselves for the quality of their sign, the originality of their content, and their ability to make texts dialogue with images in a personal and unique way.

Among the best known are Andrea Antinori, Marianna Coppo, Marta Pantaleo, Irene Penazzi, Camilla Pintonato, Luca Tagliafico, Veronica Ruffato, Giulia Tomai and others. Sometimes their works go beyond the defined perimeters of wall books that become pages, inhabit posters, magazines, the web and self-publishing. The exhibition will be inaugurated next Friday, 28 October, at 5pm at the National Museum in the presence of the director of the Italian Cultural Institute of Nairobi Elena Gallenca and Kenyan authorities. A small Swahili refreshment will follow. Admission is free, please indicate your name at info@malindikenya.net
