Italian order: ban for tourism in Kenya still

Restrictions for tourism up to 31st january 2022

15-12-2021 by redazione

Kenya and the other countries of Sub-Saharan Africa remain taboo in Italy at least until January 31, 2022, but the extension of the state of national emergency by the Prime Minister Draghi does not bode well for the continuation of this period either, in terms of the destinations included in the so-called "Fascia E":
So the same restrictions that were in place until yesterday are renewed, namely:
YOU CANNOT ENTER KENYA FOR TOURISM but only as a Kenyan citizen, resident or domiciled in the country, or relatives of the same.
There are some exceptions, related to proven reasons of work, study and other emergencies that, as mentioned, must be documented and attached to a self-certification.
From Kenya, however, entry for tourism would be possible through online visa.
UPON RETURN FROM KENYA YOU MUST RESPECT 10 DAYS OF QUARANTINE
This also applies to Italians vaccinated and in possession of Green Pass, residents or citizens there is no difference.
NO NEW TOURIST CORRIDOR
During the announcement of the previous order, expiring December 15, 2021, the Ministry of Tourism had made it known that it was working in concert with that of Health to activate new tourist corridors "covid free" in the world, to allow Italian travelers to spend the Christmas vacations and New Year in warm and exotic places. On Kenya and Zanzibar, there was little confidence in an opening, but there was talk of other African destinations such as Tunisia and Cape Verde, as well as Thailand for Asia. No dice for them either.
All other provisions remain unchanged, but Minister Speranza's order also has other restrictions, especially for and from European countries. For example, the unvaccinated will have to observe 5 days of quarantine arriving from any foreign destination.
"This is a challenge of the present - Speranza explained - as we are told by the numbers that arrive every day. Not only from countries around the world, but also from our regions. These are numbers that have been growing steadily for numerous weeks, signaling an epidemic that continues to be a real danger to be reckoned with."
It's a pity that no worrying numbers are coming from Kenya, and the trend has been declining for weeks, although there has been an upturn in recent days. But that's it, everything remains unchanged for at least another month.
