Reopening Africa: all postponed up to december 15th

Only hopes, changing of list and covid free corridors

24-10-2021 by redazione

With an order signed by the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, the Government has decreed the extension to December 15 of the measures for entry into Italy from third countries outside the European area of the Schengen Treaty.
For all entries into Italy from these countries, which fall into band E, it will therefore be necessary to perform a buffer within 72 hours of departure from these countries, the fiduciary isolation of 10 days on arrival in Italy and the completion of the form 'PLF' or 'Passenger Locator Form', completed in digital format.
This, in practice, postpones any decision on the total reopening to tourism from non-European countries and African destinations, although changes are still possible on the so-called "covid free tourist corridors" and any changes to the lists of countries in band E and band D are expected shortly or tomorrow at the latest, Monday, October 25.
Passing from band E (which includes Kenya and Tanzania, very popular destinations for Italians in view of winter vacations) to band D, the home quarantine would be shortened from 10 to 5 days. But at this point it seems highly unlikely that it will be removed altogether.
In view of this extension order, among other things, entries from India and Brazil have been equated with other non-European countries.
