As of tomorrow, Kenya officially turns over a new leaf. The ten years of the Kenyatta administration came to an end last night, with the outgoing president's last speech at State House, from where he moved permanently to make way for his former deputy William Ruto.
The two leaders met for the first time in months on the very eve of Ruto's inauguration, scheduled for today. Kenyatta

Ruto will take office tomorrow after the ritual grand ceremony that will be held at Nairobi's Kasarani Stadium in front of at least 17 heads of state from other African nations and representatives from the United States, China, Japan, the European Union and 28 other countries on the African continent.
Italy will be represented by a senior executive of our Foreign Ministry and by a diplomat from the Italian Embassy in Kenya, which is currently undergoing a change of Ambassador. To give the people a chance to witness the inauguration ceremony and swearing-in of William Ruto as the fifth President of the Republic of Kenya, the Home Minister, before resigning, ordered that Tuesday 13 September be designated as a national holiday.
"I will emulate this honoured tradition and pass the mantle to my successor, William Ruto. I am deeply grateful for the honour and privilege you have bestowed on me to serve as the fourth President of the great Republic of Kenya,' Kenyatta said in his last speech. 'The work of nation-building is an ongoing endeavour that passes from one generation to the next, as one administration passes the baton to the next, in an unbroken chain that seeks to progressively build a more united, equitable and prosperous Kenya.
