Real Malindi, a second place that deserves help

The beautiful tale of 'our' football team

22-03-2023 by redazione

It is not just a football team of mostly underage boys, it is not just the Malindi team, and it is not just second in its sub-county round. Real Malindi, whose main supporters include us on the portal of Italians in Kenya, is also a social project created by a Kenyan coach and educator, Davis Badili Kenga, who takes young boys off the streets and, through football and the attraction of dreaming of a place in the team, makes them study. Yes, because if you are not a good student or do your best to become one, you may be Maradona or Kvaratschelia, but in Real Malindi you don't play. That is why the start of this year's championship, with two wins and a draw, an undefeated team and second place behind the Black Hunters, who have won all three, is even more encouraging. Real Malindi might be everyone's pride, but few help coach Badili. Among them is the periodic contribution of Pasquale Pes of the Olimpia Club, as well as that of some Malindikenya.net readers. Our funds collected thanks to donations from Genoa fans (Real Malindi started out as Genoa Malindi, not only in honour of the football faith of the undersigned, but thanks to a sponsorship agreement with the Ligurian club which, alas, lasted only 4 years) are instead earmarked for scholarships for the most promising footballers in school.
For anyone wishing to help Real Malindi with a small donation, Davis Kenga's Mpesa number from Kenya is 0722882373.
