Eight more cases of Covid-19 positive in Kenya bring the total number of officially infected people to 363 in the country.
The update of Monday 27 April was given by Kenya's Minister of Health Mutahi Kagwe at a press conference a few hours earlier than the usual afternoon meeting.
Kagwe confirmed that in addition to the eight new cases registered, there are also as many patients declared cured and discharged from hospitals in the country, while for the seventh day in a row there are no official deaths due to Covid-19.
 The new positives are equally divided between the two cities of Kenya where more than any other county seems to nest the Coronavirus, 4 in Nairobi and 4 in Mombasa. All eight patients are citizens of Kenyan nationality and this, recalled the Minister, confirms that the local transmission of the virus is now rooted in the country.
"We are very concerned about the spread of the epidemic in the city of Mombasa and its County - said Kagwe - we will consider whether to take other measures in the near future.
Certainly the period of Ramadan does not help in a reality like Mombasa and the coast where there are many people of Islamic faith.
