Travel to Kenya, news about requirements

Some adjustement to fight the second wave

20-11-2020 by redazione

The Ministry of Health, in view of the second wave of the pandemic in many countries around the world, has decided to amend the regulations in force for the entry of travellers into its own country, and for those who are simply in transit.
As confirmed also on the "viaggiggiaresicuri" website of our Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the controversial reading of the validity of the PCR buffer to be presented at the entrance of the country "before to travel" has been resolved.
It is confirmed that the PCR pad must have a date not exceeding 96 HOURS PREVIOUS OF ARRIVAL IN KENYA and not from departure.
This is the statement of the Ministry of Health:
"Passengers whose certificates expire during transit will be required to deposit their passport with the airport's port health authorities and to carry out the tests in a recognised facility at their own expense".
In addition, the compulsory online form of the Ministry of Health for travellers must be filled in and submitted before the journey.
Upon arrival in Nairobi, moreover, travellers will be taken off the aircraft in groups of 30 people, and the following ones will be able to disembark when the screening and presentation of the previous group documents has been completed.
The airport authorities have confirmed the continuity of compliance with the protocol and the monitoring of the security measures that airlines must implement to ensure the safety of passengers. These measures include the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by flight crew and airport workers and, where necessary, limited interaction between crew and passengers.
Please note that from Italy it is not allowed to travel to Kenya for tourism reasons, that in Kenya there is no quarantine for those arriving, unless they have a body temperature above 37.5 degrees or have symptoms such as coughs and colds that may be attributable to Covid-19.
