Watamu, Kenya. In the aftermath of the frightful fire that completely destroyed the Mbuyu Lodge hotel restaurant and almost completely destroyed the Barracuda Inn Resort and the Mapango restaurant, we, from the portal of Italians in Kenya, went to the site to see for ourselves the damage and the dynamics of the tragic fatality that brought two structures to their knees and left some 200 tourists, almost all Italians, homeless and without personal belongings. As we have reported, they were all 'reproduced' in structures in Watamu that lent themselves to receive them. Not only on behalf of the tour operator Alpitour, but also out of pure solidarity, as in the case of the clients of Mbuyu Lodge who found accommodation at Blue Bay Village and Sunset Beach.
