The love for Kenya has infected one of the leading exponents of Italian dentistry.
Stefano Zanetti, a fifty-year-old from Milan, an expert in implantology and bone regeneration, is about to realize his dream of moving to full-time in Kenya, and to make available to Kenyans and foreigners living here his professionalism and experience.
Now is already in Nyali, at Dr. Chudasama clinic, over Nakumatt Cinemax, from Friday to Tuesday, but his goal is to move permanently in Kenya, very soon.
"Currently in Kenya there is only one expert implantologist also in" bone regeneration "- explains Zanetti - and has his studio in Nairobi. I love Kenya to the sea, I have a passion for underwater hunting and live mostly on the coast, even though I know I'm in great demand in the Capital. "
It’s also a good news for the many Italian residents in coastal regions, from Diani Malindi. To make a good regeneration or reconstruction often takes months of sessions, and those who live in Kenya you certainly can not afford to come and go in Europe. Standards applied by Zanetti are completely European, as well as the raw materials used.
"I work for years of dentistry branches that deal to save one or more teeth, reconstructing the root or, ultimately, the bone. I studied with prof. Simion UCLA University, number one in the world and for 24 years, perfezionandomi with courses in Italy and the United States, I honed my knowledge in this field. However, where bone regeneration is no longer possible, it intervenes implantology. In Mombasa I also deal with this by coordinating all our other specialties (extractions, fillings, root canal therapy and prosthetics) with highly trained colleagues. "
Zanetti has decided to combine the potential of his profession in a country growing like Kenya, with great love for Africa, cultivated for years and also became a "family affair".
"Africa has always been for me a great destination for the beauty of nature - says the dentist - just graduated, I went to visit in Embu area a Venetian missionary priest. I was fascinated by the fact that in Kenya I could switch my profession with social activities. I was already ready to go, but my ex-wife did not agree. But in the meantime in Rome I met many African and grew in me a desire to learn more about a culture in some ways more primitive aspects of our but on the other hand retained certain wealth that we have now lost. So as soon as possible, I was in Kenya. Then, twelve years ago I met my current girlfriend, a Kenyan Luo ethnic group and since then at least once a year I come to Kenya. We have two sons, Moses 9 years and George 3, as well as three others from previous marriages. The children, especially the little ones, they feel very African, and when they arrive in Kenya are in harmony with the earth and nature. "
Zanetti dreams of a future on a human scale for him and his children.
"Moses dreams of designing parks for animals, together we have already done safari and shot Lake Victoria - reveals the Italian doctor - at Christmas will all be here and it is an opportunity to lay the foundations for a return to the cradle of humanity. I also met the Archbishop of Mombasa and am ready to devote myself once a week for children and people in need. Besides my attraction for the environment and for the solidarity, I undergo the fascination for all the discoveries that have been made in the field of anthropology in the Rift Valley. This is the land of my children, who would like to give the possibility to live in the land of their mother, but basically it is also mine because I feel that my roots, ancestrally, I'm here. "
In Mombasa, Zanetti brings quality dentistry, certainly not that of the franchise studies, or dentists improvised abroad, not to mention that of "dental tourism" in Eastern European countries.
Places where in a week ago is the one for which the biology require 4 months.
"My happiness - confirms the professional - is to bring a technology that is not here yet so developed, being aware of all its limitations, with the presumption, therefore, to participate in building a better world where it goes on, however, you are trying to avoid damages resulting from technological progress: the pollution, the slavery of work, the hardening of human relationships with the development of certain psychological suffering that here thankfully are still unknown. "
In short, the future of dentistry is in bone regeneration to save our teeth, to Stefano Zanetti is a life close to man and family on the coast of Kenya.
