The archipelago of relaxation and wellness is located in Kenya.
It started yesterday in Lamu the seventh edition of the Lamu Yoga Festival, an event of world resonance that will end tomorrow the 8th.
The Festival, organized in collaboration with the County of Lamu, has now become a fixed appointment for a growing number of enthusiasts who this year will exceed 400, with 35 teachers (who came literally from all over the world, challenging the uncertain days of the Coronavirus, from the United States to South East Asia, from Europe to other African countries in addition to Kenya, with experts also known in Malindi as Alexandra Spyratos and Watamu as Paul Kristal of the Tree House). During these days there will be 175 workshops, meditations and "classes" that will enliven the streets and beaches of Lamu and Manda.
All accompanied by the magical atmosphere of Swahili culture including the delicious cuisine that is one of the reasons why Lamu is recognized as the destination of Kenya for health and wellness: you eat fresh fruit, vedure and fish every day, there are no cars and so without the stress and rush of modern life you can enjoy the unspoiled beauty of the island with jogging, walking and of course outdoor yoga and find the right balance with yourself and nature.
Between meditation and meditation there will also be some particularly evocative events including a sunset cruise in Dohw or a party with bonfires and music on the beautiful island of Manda.
The organization is also very attentive to the local community by supporting projects aimed at education (Anidan-Bright Girls Secondary School) and the environment: "Yogasphere" for example provides all participants with reusable and biodegradable bottles that can be recharged in "water points" located on the island.
