Following the success of his performance last 25 November, the Nairobi-based trumpeter and saxophonist Mackinlay Mutsembi returns this Friday, 24 February, to the evocative garden space of the restaurant bar and boutique hotel La Malindina in Malindi.
As part of his "Art & Cultural Nights", the East African's most acclaimed musician and composer will bring his verve as a performer and entertainer that has made him an icon in the capital's most iconic venues. This time he will not be alone, but accompanied by another fiatist, saxophonist Dan.

After having participated for years in the prestigious Safaricom Jazz Festival, Mackinlay was the founder and soul of the Nairobi Horns Project, a flexible jazz band into which New York artists and talented session men have also converged over time. But Mutsembi is not only a trumpeter and a performer: he is also a talented composer, a music producer and a creative entrepreneur. For years, with his label 'Mackinlay Music', the Nairobi musician has been promoting young talents with whom he often performs, as well as having his own quartet with whom he alternates swing and be-bop classics with jazzy covers of artists from the finest pop music up to modern contaminations with new R&B and African sounds.

The show of rare quality for Malindi, will begin at 8pm and will accompany the super-tested apericena, which for the occasion will be priced at Kes. 2200 (excluding drinks).
