ITALIAN PODCAST
17-03-2026 by Freddie del Curatolo
In Malindi in the 1980s and 1990s, there were not only epic stories of tourism pioneers, nor those of people who left behind lives worth telling and embraced a new world, beginning to feel less alone with the growth of an Italian community on the African coast. There were also grotesque, unsavory stories, which would have been somewhat squalid were it not for the fact that there were also those who observed and recounted them without moralizing and with irreverent irony... This is in the seventh episode of the second season of The History of Italians in Kenya.
As always, Freddie del Curatolo's podcast on the History of Italians in Kenya is broadcast on the SPOTIFY channel “Italiani in Kenya” and on the Malindikenya.net YouTube channel.
