The legendary Vespa, parked in the small square of Karen's "The Hub" shopping center, greets customers at a corner you might find in any of Italy's piazzas. And the ambiance you enter, right from the attention to comfort and hospitality, with special attention to detail (the leather cutlery holder with the restaurant's name, the lamps on each table) puts you at ease as if you were projected for a moment into an authentic Tuscan or Lombard farmhouse.
Recently renovated, with accouterments to create an even more intimate setting in the outdoor veranda, La Cascina di Karen is distinguished by the quality of its products, the constant search for freshness and continuity, both from the many local suppliers and from imported products with even weekly arrivals.
At the Cascina you will find the combination of high standards of preparation and recipes of dishes that are inspired by the Italian tradition, with proposals of international scope, in addition to the menu a choice of "specials" that vary to please all tastes and preferences from vegetarian, meat or fish. On the blackboard at the entrance every day there are always new items that vary according to the fresh foods of the day or the creativity of the host Gianpaolo Zappa.
Special mention for the excellent wine cellar, and it could not be otherwise. To accompany many of them, even if only for an aperitif, try the charcuterie and cheese boards with fried gnocco and piadina. A delicacy as rare as it is unforgettable for an Italian haute cuisine "experience" in Kenya.
