The creativity of chef Diego at Visiwa in Watamu

Renewed menu combining tradition and fusion cuisine

Visiwa, one of Watamu's landmarks for hospitality and food and wine, in the splendid setting of one of the most iconic beaches, is taking another leap forward this season with the arrival of chef Diego Tosi, already the creative soul behind Rock and Sea and Tamu in the tourist destination, as well as having various international experiences.
The concept of Visiwa remains the same as in previous seasons, which have celebrated it as a culinary excellence in Watamu, thanks to the right mix of tradition and innovation, Italian cuisine and international cuisine, with a focus on local ingredients, fresh fish from the Indian Ocean, tropical fruit, vegetables, and meat, with the best cuts, such as ribeye, porterhouse steak, and picanha, coming from South Africa.
With chef Diego, who has added some of his “signature dishes” like sushi and other new items to the already excellent menu, the search for unusual and “fusion” combinations has also improved, without neglecting staples such as fresh pasta, wood-fired pizza, artisan ice cream and an increasingly refined and carefully selected wine cellar, as well as the service, attention to different dietary requirements and the presentation of the dishes, which have always been a trademark of Visiwa, together with the location.
