ITALIAN PRODUCTS

From Puglia to Kenya, from the Murge to Kilifi County.
There are many points of contact between southern Italy and Africa, especially in terms of rural traditions and the artisanal ability, clearly born for subsistence reasons but evolving with the growth of entrepreneurship, to make the most of one's land.
Here today Vinyasa, the importer of Italian excellence in Kenya, brings the two together, creating an axis between Andria and Malindi, in the name of two historical and...mouth-watering products!
Burrata and buffalo mozzarella, starting this week, arrive fresh by plane directly from a specialized and award-winning dairy in Andria thanks to the collaboration of Mimmo Pomarico, a great expert in the field and personal friend of Vinyasa.
Burrata, a commercial boom in recent years in Italy and around the world, as well as in Nairobi where more and more international restaurants are offering it (often mispronouncing it as "Buratta" sic!), is a fresh, cow's milk, pasta filata cheese typical of the Murge region of Puglia. It is shaped like a rounded pouch with a characteristic apical closure and looks similar to mozzarella on the outside. The inside of stracciatella, is soft and stringy.
Vinyasa, in the vein of continuous innovation, has in fact begun importing burratinas (a boom, in Italy)
The burratina is distributed to the best restaurants and hotels in Malindi and Watamu, and is also sold to the public at Vinyasa's headquarters in the commercial space with ample parking in front of the Malindi International Airport.
As mentioned, you will find not only burratina but also the "queen" of the Apulian dairies, buffalo mozzarella with its unmistakable flavor that is decisive but delicate at the same time, definitely different from the other mozzarella. The difference lies in the composition of the milk. Buffalo milk has a lower percentage of water content than cow's milk. It is therefore more 'concentrated' and consequently tastier.
The arrival of these two extraordinary, wholesome and mouth-watering fresh products represents another step forward by Vinyasa toward the completeness of its assortment of Italian food, which now has more than a thousand products.
In conclusion, good Italian food is a lifesaver in the open sea to park our dreams of self-fulfillment: desirability, indulgence, freedom from consequences, at least for a few hours. Then back to the work of living (and the drudgery of vacationing...) while waiting for the next meal.
