Chinese airline China Southern Airlines resumed flights to Nairobi after the temporary suspension due to the Coronavirus emergency in the Asian country.

The Government of Kenya has agreed but confirming that all Chinese citizens and also Kenyans resident or returning from China will be kept in isolation at JKIA airport in Nairobi for the appropriate checks and in case they are found positive to the swab will be quarantined for at least 14 days. China Southern Airlines, for its part, confirmed that after the departure checks, other scans were carried out on passengers prior to disembarkation in Kenya.
The first 229 passengers who arrived from China on the direct flight were not found to be fit to enter the African country.
The Government of Kenya continues to advise its citizens against non-essential travel to countries affected by the epidemic.
"This in view of a possible geographical expansion of the epidemic worldwide," says the statement of the Ministry of Health.
The Ministry also urged the public to maintain hygiene and avoid contact with people with suspicious symptoms, such as acute respiratory diseases, while confirming that it has carried out extensive research into the seventeen suspected cases in the country, all of which proved negative.
