Coronavirus: all the bans of Kilifi County

Bars, nightclubs, gathering, meetings and...

Kilifi County has decided to apply important restrictive measures for public venues, and meeting places within its jurisdiction.
"In line with the directives of President Uhuru Kenyatta to avoid crowding in public places - announced Kingi in Swahili on Kenyan television - I and the Kilifi County Commissioner (Prefect) have decided to take some measures".
All public functions, meetings, gatherings, including religious gatherings, and any event are suspended.
All local bars, bars where self-produced spirits are drunk (such as palm wine or local grappa) and nightclubs will have to close immediately.
Restaurants and places where food is sold must respect very high standards of hygiene.
Weddings and funerals, such as public events, are suspended. We ask families to bury their loved ones privately.
It is forbidden for anyone to visit their relatives in hospital.
All employees of the county government office who are not required to be physically present and who do not work in crisis units must work from home.
We will soon issue guidelines for local public transportation, matatu and boda boda, and enforce those issued by the Ministry of Transportation.
This is the statement that was expected and that gives a first important signal from the Governor himself, while the Department of Health has been working hard for days at all levels, both prevention, analysis and even investigation.
