It is now official, with publication in the relevant Gazette.
The prices of admission to Kenya's national parks and reserves have increased, as they do almost every year.
The price revision, as recently pointed out by the Director General of the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), Erastus Kanga, ‘is not just about revenue, but also about the survival of our wildlife and the resilience of our conservation systems’.
The resilience of tour operators, guides, but also ordinary enthusiastic residents, and the resulting increases in safari packages, are not often considered...
The reality, as reported in the national media, is that the KWS faces a deficit of 19.8 billion Kenyan shillings to implement its strategic plan for 2028. A plan worth 98.3 billion Kenyan shillings.
Here is a detailed breakdown of how much it will cost residents and tourists to enter the main parks managed by the Kenyan state through the KWS.
Amboseli: Residents Kes. 2025 – Tourists USD 90
Nairobi National Park: Residents Kes. 1350 – Tourists USD 80
Tsavo East and West: Residents Kes. 1350 – Tourists USD 80
Meru, Kora and Aberdare: Residents Kes. 1100 – Tourists USD 70

There are also special packages (such as the two Tsavo + Amboseli for $215) and discounts for students, young people and campers. Finally, new licences have been introduced for photography and filming for documentaries or films. All this information is available (or will be...) on the Kenya Wildlife Service website.
