Kenya registered 2 more Coronavirus deaths

Another one yesterday, a new positive in Wajir

In Kenya, Coronavirus is dying again and the contagion also arrives near the largest and most populous refugee camps in Africa.
Today, Thursday, April 30, the Administrative Secretary of National Health Rashid Abdi Aman announced during the usual daily press conference that, compared to 15 cures in the last 24 hours, the number of deaths due to the Covid-19 virus has risen to 17, after two patients did not make it. The two are in addition to the case reported yesterday evening and which we had updated in our article on Wednesday 29 April.
There are, however, 12 new cases of virus positivity recorded through the 777 samples taken since yesterday. This brings the total number of infected people to the threshold of 400 cases, or 396. Five of these come from quarantine centres and seven are part of the contacts traced by the Ministry of Health team.
To date, 20,268 swabs have been tested in the country.
Seven of the confirmed cases come from Mombasa, three from Nairobi, one from Kitui County and there is also the first case in Wajir, which not surprisingly in recent days had been subject to controls, especially on citizens of Somali origin.
Security Minister Fred Matiang'i had already ordered the lockdown of the two Kenyan refugee centres, Kakuma and Daadab, yesterday to avoid contagion in places not easily controlled and on the border with other states.
Speaking of Mombasa, which seems to be the most worrying outbreak in the country, Abdi Aman informed that all drivers of heavy vehicles leaving the second city of Kenya are regularly swabbed, one of the measures taken to control those leaving the county that has exceeded one hundred cases.
