Kenya is trying again to fight corruption by fielding the president's men who have shown seriousness and commitment to the country's new course.
Ruto has mandated Public Service Chief Felix Koskei to form a multi-agency team to fight the scourge of corruption.
"We all agree on the need to eliminate this menace. No one will be protected or victimised in this fight," said Koskei. "It is the wish of President Ruto, who has ordered us to strengthen our role without fear or favour as we do our work.
Koskei said President William Ruto has ordered his leadership to ensure zero tolerance to corruption.
The new Head of Intelligence, Nordin Haji, said proper investigations and corporations will ensure successful prosecution.
Haji, who already tried as attorney general (DPP) to eradicate one of the worst issues holding back Kenya's growth and equality, admitted that he was hampered in his work by many players in the old political system.
"Corruption has become systematic. We will only succeed if we respect the Constitution and work in accordance with the law," he told the media.
Now the creation of this new team that intends to creep into the various institutional branches and every county.
Budget Controller Margaret Nyakan'go called for more anti-corruption personnel in the counties, noting that there is currently only one in each county.
Nyakan'go said that many counties misappropriate funds by operating through companies that are not legal.
After years of talking about corruption as the primary cancer of the country to be eradicated, with the current dire economic situation, recovering money misappropriated in every way from the state coffers is not only a moral obligation, but a necessary one if Kenya's fortunes are to be revived.
According to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (Eacc), Kenya loses about $5 billion (7.8 per cent of the country's GDP) annually to such malpractices.
