More tests, more cases in Kenya but not too serious

Numbers and daily uploads raise questions

As the number of swabs taken increases, so do the number of positive cases of Covid-19 in Kenya, with all its variants.
For a week now, however, the percentage has not wanted to fall below 5%, and in the last 24 hours it has reached 5.7%, with 410 positives out of a sample of 7180 tests carried out.
It would be interesting to know what would happen if in a single day the same number of swabs that are performed daily in Italy, that is on average 300,000, and also what regional data we would have if in each county were analyzed the swabs that every 24 hours result in the capital Nairobi.
Certainly the important percentage thanks to which Kenya, and Sub-Saharan Africa in general up to here can breathe a sigh of relief is that of asymptomatic, which are in practice almost all.
Even yesterday, out of 410 cases, only 6 people were admitted to intensive care, and even among the symptomatic, who account for less than 10% of the total number of positives, 75% have such mild symptoms that they can be treated at home. It goes without saying that not only do people officially die very little of Covid-19 in Kenya, but (and this is the important thing, because it is easier to conceal or minimise a death than a prolonged state of illness that could infect other people if not isolated) they rarely fall ill.
The percentage of infected foreigners compared to Kenyans is still over 10%, and yesterday 42 people found positive were citizens of other countries.
Only 24 patients have been cured in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to around 86,500 out of a total of 105,000 cases, to which must be added the 1,853 who did not make it (another 6 yesterday) and the almost 2,000 currently hospitalised. The intensive care units now house 61 critically ill Coronavirus patients and another 12 patients are on oxygenation in general wards, as well as another 342 inpatients who do not require supplementary oxygen.
Distribution data in the counties: Nairobi 254, Mombasa 27, Migori 24, Kiambu 22, Nakuru 15, Turkana 13, Machakos 8, Kericho 6, Uasin Gishu 6, Kajiado 5, Taita Taveta 5, Kilifi 4, Meru 4, Nyeri 4, Busia 2, Kakamega 2, Kisumu 2, Kwale 2, Makueni 1, Kirinyaga 1, Kitui 1, Wajir 1 and Bungoma.
