No official deaths have occurred in two days, but rates are rising in Kenya's Covid-19 data transmitted by the Ministry of Health.
In the last 24 hours the government has reported 147 new positive cases of the virus out of 2,063, with the percentage of positive cases per swab more than doubling from the previous day to around 7%. The number of Covid-19 victims, on the other hand, remained unchanged at 1795, while the total number of cases recorded in the country for almost a year rose to 103,014.
As always, it should be noted that most of the swabs are carried out in the capital Nairobi and consequently most of the positives are detected there. In the latest round of tests as many as 107 came from Nairobi, and only 40 were divided among as many as 17 counties.
Minister Mutahi Kagwe also gave an account of 242 recoveries, 91 of which are patients discharged from various hospitals in the country. This brings the total number of people who have emerged unscathed from the Covid-19 tunnel to 85,250.
In Kenya, officially, there are only 454 patients currently in special wards in the country and another 1227 are still positive but are in isolation at home with few or no symptoms.
There are 34 patients in intensive care. Another 8 patients are on supplementary oxygen but in other wards.
