FLIGHTS TO KENYA

Route to Kenya, i's time for Brussels Airlines

The Belgian airline starts with four flights a week from 3 June

28-05-2024 by redazione

Another airline lands permanently in Kenya, flying four to six days a week to Nairobi. It is Brussels Airlines, which is part of the large Lufthansa family. The Belgian company, starting from Monday 3 June, will fly from Brussels to Nairobi with attractive fares and connections to major European destinations, but also with connections to other African cities, using the Kenyan capital as a 'hub'.
The airline will fly to Nairobi, as to Kigali in Rwanda, with A330 airbuses.
"With the addition of Nairobi to our network, daily frequencies to Kigali and additional flights to West Africa, we offer our passengers travelling to and from Africa more choices than ever before." The tenth intercontinental aircraft is a clear sign of the Lufthansa Group's confidence in Brussels Airlines and reinforces our role as the Group's Africa hub," say the company.
Kenya is not unknown territory for Brussels Airlines, as the airline has already served Nairobi between 2002 and 2015. The airline will operate six flights per week during the high season and four during the low season. It will therefore start with four flights, Wednesday to Sunday, departing Brussels at 10.20am and arriving in Nairobi at 10.30pm. For the return flight, from Jomo Kenyatta Airport it will leave in the evening, at 23.40, arriving in the Belgian capital at 7.55 (local time).
In happily noting that some companies manage to obtain licences and schedule routes to Kenya, despite the difficulties of which we have often informed you, we update readers on the defection of Ethiad Airways, which had announced in May the start of flights to Nairobi with connections to Italy.
After putting the tickets on sale, the company initially delayed the launch of the flights until June, only to suspend them indefinitely, to the disappointment of those who had purchased tickets, also on the strength of a campaign of advantageous fares during the low season.
