The Kenya Feast on the 30th in Milan is approaching

Africa magazine event with Freddie and other guests

24-09-2022 by Leni Frau

The date of the Kenya Festival in Milan organised by Africa magazine is approaching, Friday 30 September from 6pm at the Centro Internazionale di Quartiere in via Fabio Massimo 19 in the Corvetto area (a few metres from the MM3 Porto Di Mare stop).
The special guest of this four-hour happening, which presents the African country in all its aspects - culture, food, solidarity, safaris, folklore and music - is the director of Malindikenya.net Freddie del Curatolo, who returns to Italy after four years to present his new book 'Nairobi' (in collaboration with the undersigned, for the photographic part), published on 15 September by the Ogzero publishing house.

Freddie will present the book and talk about 'his' Kenya in the company of two other Africa experts, the editor-in-chief of Rivista Africa, Marco Trovato, and the journalist Angelo Ferrari, author of many profound and interesting books, also in partnership with the late Raffaele Masto, and editor of the African section of the publishing series Le città visibili.
In addition to this event, which will be the first on the agenda in an evening full of pleasant moments, there will be a video projection on the lesser-known beauties of Kenya. From encounters with the peoples who inhabit the shores of Lake Turkana to the Swahili architecture of Lamu, from the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya to the history- and culture-rich shores of the Indian Ocean by Kanaga Africa Tours. Then, after the presentation of the online Swahili course, a real Swahili dinner (cost € 10) and then the Maasai girl Susan Muteleu will talk about her life "from Kilimanjaro to the Alps", in the province of Bergamo together with her husband Ivano Carcano, with whom she runs the Festival of Indigenous Peoples "The Spirit of the Planet". To round off the evening there will be some musical entertainment, and maybe even some songs about Italians in Kenya by Freddie and Sbringo.
