The last 240 Italians who had applied for the third return flight from Kenya to Italy have returned.
The third state flight was not crowded and also had on board some residents and hotel staff who had booked a return flight with the NEOS company in April and were re-routed without any payment on the Mombasa-Malpensa-Fiumicino which left the Kenyan city at 1pm today, Thursday 21 May.
Also in this case, holiday tourists were practically absent: the passengers were all long-distance holidaymakers in Kenya, homeowners, seasonal activity managers and residents.
With the well-established organization by the Italian Embassy in Kenya and the logistics on the field by the Honorary Consulate of Malindi and the assistants in Watamu, Mambrui and Kilifi, the coach coach provided by the Southern Sky Safaris company left in the rain at 7 am from Malindi and then joined the others in Gede, for a total of 9 vehicles.
Normal waits for a mass exodus and no problems at departure, at Mombasa airport and then prepare for the inevitable bureaucratic rigmarole between self-certification and controls at the two Italian airports. As always, the promise of almost everyone was to see each other again very soon.
