Saturday 8th choose your Malindi area to clean

Already 21 groups ready for may monthly Clean Up

07-05-2021 by Leni Frau

Following the success of last month, when due to the constraints of the pandemic period, the monthly town clean up exercise was designed for small groups in different areas of Malindi, the Malindi Clean Up will also be "spread out" in May.
As always on the second Saturday of the month, the Progressive Welfare Association of Malindi (PWAM) and sympathisers of the Malindi Green And Blue movement will organise themselves with gloves, bags, rakes and a lot of goodwill near their homes or businesses, in the most problematic areas of the tourist destination, on the beaches and on the main roads.
As always, government institutions are supporting the initiative and the Kilifi County Department of the Environment will be involved in collecting the rubbish removed, loading it and taking it to disposal centres.
The involvement of activities, associations and individuals is even more important this month, with 21 groups (no more than ten people each) involved.
Everyone can join in by choosing their area, last time many private houses did so with their staff and also shops and restaurants. Then you can send us your photos and they will be published on malindikenya.net and on our social pages. Send them to the whatsapp number 0717067198 or to the email info@malindikenya.net or directly to the facebook and instagram pages of malindigreenandblue.
the Zone Clean Up will take place in Malindi, Saturday 8 May from 8 to 10 am.
