While throughout Kenya continues to spread the strike of the doctors who is undermining the already tried the public health system, in Malindi and surroundings there are more Italian with a big heart who make themselves available to address what may seem to our Western eyes small emergencies, but here are long-standing problems with which sorely community coexists.
This is nothing new for example, that in Malindi often lacks water and to a hospital where every year are born more than 600 children the problem is serious.
The growth of the healthcare structure of malindino of Muyeye neighborhood is also active in the Italian and self generosity of Antonella Tirone who has been following the needs and hospital emergencies, of workers and of the many patients there.
Lately the Muyeye hospital has experienced a lack of water, which for such a place can really be a big problem.
Hence the need to have a "tank" of reserves to meet emergency needs and to ensure the operational health.
The request started by our friend Antonella with the intent to collect the necessary sum to the purchase through the word of mouth among people sensitive to humanitarian issues and, as often happens, the initiative has joined with enthusiasm and without delay a dear friend living Malindi, Luigina Bernini, who donated the full amount. So in a few days it has purchased a 5,000 liter tank, delivered and put into operation between the enthusiasm of the director and all the hospital staff. The beauty of Africa is that, for those who feel better if they are a bit 'even better than the others, in no time you can overcome situations that drag along. And it is much easier to do than to say or explain.
